Knitting is one of the most basic techniques in knitting. When you knit row after row of knit stitches, you get a pattern called garter stitch, which gives an elastic and slightly bumpy surface. Knitting is also used as the basis for many other patterns.
How to knit a knit stitch:
1. Hold the needles correctly: Hold the needle with the stitches in your left hand and the empty needle in your right hand. The yarn should hang behind the work.
2. Insert the right needle: Insert the right needle into the first stitch from the front, from left to right. Now both needles are crossed.
3. Wrap the yarn around the needle: Take the yarn from the ball and pass it over the right needle from back to front.
4. Pull the yarn through: Pull the yarn through the stitch using the right needle, so that a new loop is formed.
5. Slip the stitch: Let the old stitch slip off the left needle. The new stitch is now on the right needle.
6. Repeat: Continue in the same way until all stitches on the left needle are knitted.
Tip:
• Try to maintain an even thread tension so that the stitches are the same size.
• If the stitches feel tight, you can try knitting a little looser, or use knitting needles half a size larger.
